Hair Care Tips- Hair Care Needs Extra Effort!!

Long hair, Short hair, Dry hair, oily hair, curly hair or straight hair whatever the hair type is they require your proper care and attention. Ever wonder if you’re taking proper care of your locks? Are you using the right products? Could your shampoo be damaging your hair? Should you brush your hair more — or less?

With more than 100,000 hair follicles on your head, it makes sense to learn some hair care tips to keep your hair healthy and shining.

• Do not shampoo your hair everyday. Hair that has not been washed for a day or two is easier to style. In fact washing your hair once every two or three days will actually make your hair healthy. Washing your hair everyday robs hair of essential oils and dries your scalp and hair.
• If you have oily hair squirt water at the roots. Water adds lift to the hair roots. You can sprinkle some baby powder to the roots of the hair as well. For dry coarse hair condition the ends of your hair well every time you wash them.
• If you want to tie your hair up in a bun, keep the bun loose. Finger comb your hair into a low disheveled bun.
• While blow-drying your hair finger comb your hair and separate the tangles with your fingers. Dry your hairs in this manner till your hair is almost dry and then use a brush.
• Coloring your hair is another hair treatment option. It is a nice change from the way you normally look. But choose a hair color that will suit your skin color. Ask a professional to help you choose the right color for your skin tone.
• Use hair oil with Vitamin E which has a vitalizing cause on hair.
• Avoid sleeping in hair accessories such as barrettes, scrunches, head bands, etc.
• Avoid shampoos that having sodium laurel sulfate, or sodium laureth sulfate.
• Drink coconut water at least twice a week. It is good for hair.
• Wash your hair with a mild, pH-balanced shampoo at least once each week to remove salt buildup.
• Condition your hair every week with a moisturizing protein conditioner. A good conditioner disappears when you rub your hands together.
• Avoid over-processing! Limit your use of blow dryers and curling irons.
• Pull your hair away from your face and neck when you exercise.
• Leave part of your hair unwrapped to breathe.
• Get regular precision cuts or trims to maintain style shape.
• Talk to your hair dresser to help choose the right hair care products.
• Apply natural oil to your scalp as needed.
• Condition your hair every week with a moisturizing conditioner or hot oil treatment. Treat your hair and scalp with a light conditioning oil every day.
• Protect your hair when you swim by wearing a cap. If you do not use a cap be sure to shampoo or use a cream rinse after every swim session.
• Sleep on a satin pillowcase to prevent damage from tossing and turning.
• If your hair is damaged, use a protein treatment once a week.
• Double-check any product you use on your hair. Ask your beauty parlor assistant about the hair bleach, coloring etc., she is going to use on you, and if it has any effects… now or later.
• Drink plenty of water in summer and gulp down some fresh vegetable and fruit juices to improve hair from within. Follow a protein-packed diet.
• If you have undue hair loss, dandruff or any other persistent hair-related problem, check with your doctor to see if you have hormonal imbalance, scalp infection, disease or are suffering from physical, emotional or environmental stress. Then follow the course of treatment the doctor prescribes.
